HEATWAVE
This week our area has been in a god awful heatwave. It is days like these that I wish we had a pool. The kids and I have to settle for the kiddie pool and sprinkler.
That goes for Teddy too.

4TH OF JULY
Our local town did not have fireworks this year, due to lack of funds.
That's sad.
As far back as I can remember there were always fireworks.
It didn't stop us from having fun.
Our family got together with my BFFs family and the boys set off their own fireworks.

THINGS IN MY BACKYARD
Baby Robins in a bush next to my deck.
My black lab, Ellie found them and would not leave them alone.
Mama and Papa Robins were doing nose dives at Ellie.
Hydrangea Bush
(of course it's purple)
The last I counted there were six frogs in my pond.
(do you see the little one under the lilly pad)

MY MOMMOM
It was nice visiting my grandmother.
She lives in an assisted living home about an hour away, so I don't get to see her often.

THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY SON
He sent me a text saying: "I like poop".
Hmmm...interesting text message. Teenagers!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your frogs and your flowers.
Brandon has a strange sense of humor. LOL
ReplyDeleteTexts from kids... the best :)
ReplyDeleteI love how protective a momma bird can be!
Oh man, being little, sprinklers & kiddie pools are the most fun anyways :)
We had some baby robins in our yard earlier this year. When they started leaving the nest, one of them was hurt and we tried to help it. I couldn't believe all the squawking the adult birds did and dive bombing. It was quite interesting.
ReplyDeleteFrogs are good since a few years ago they were dying off. The benefits of your type of pool is quick set-up and no long term maintenance. We have used the same type here.
ReplyDeleteOnly problem with the birds and my dog is that Ellie thought they were playing. ;-)
ReplyDeleteEllie caught one and laid it at my back door. Poor birdie!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they were dying off. My pond is breeding heaven for them right now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, one of my dogs got hold of it while we were trying to help but I was able to get her off it pretty quickly. We ended up bringing it to a Wildlife Rehab Center we have near us. Hopefully it lived.
ReplyDeleteI love the pics from your backyard! Your son sounds like mine.
ReplyDeleteThe baby robins - adorable! We had a heat wave here too, a week or so ago. Now, it's cloudy and under 100, which feels downright cool. And the poop thing - well, kids are just gross! Have a great weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Brandon that is gross! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of the baby birds, you got a good shot of them :) Or was it Todd and his photographic skills?
And of course you have Adam on your phone, who else right? I'm surprised he has a shirt on though ;)
Oh, Adam Levine. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your got to see your grandma. I'm sure you made her day.
Love your kiddie pool. Isn't it amazing how a little pool and a run through the sprinkler can fill a day with fun.
Stay cool.

We got a wading pool for our dog but she won't go in it! I thought it would be nice for her.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got a chance to see your grandma. Mine died at age 98 three years ago, and I miss her. Nice to meet you, by the way. This is only my 2nd Fragments.
ReplyDeleteThe baby birds made my heart grow two sizes, your grandmother is beautiful, your iPhone case is so perfect for you.
ReplyDeleteBaby birds have flown the coop. <3
ReplyDeleteTeddy has always liked the water. I don't know if it's the breed or just Teddy. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteWe are suffering from a horrendous heatwave. The kiddie pool is a HUGE hit with the kids right now. Thanks for stopping by Joanna!
ReplyDeleteThe baby robins have flown away. All grown up and on their way.
ReplyDeleteRight now 97 is feeling cool too. ugh!
Two of my boys turned out okay… the youngest one, I don't know, I worry about him… LOL
Oh no! There is another boy like mine! Oh you poor mama!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you to Tina! Welcome to Friday Fragments. I'm glad you could join in the fun!!
ReplyDeleteyour grandmother is a beautiful lady - you are so lucky to have her. I only knew one grandparent, and she died when I was 4
ReplyDeleteMy kids have been in our plastic pool everyday this past weekend. and then they switch to the sprinkler when they get too much sand in the pool from the sandbox. I hauled them all to the local beach today when we started to climb over 30 degrees with the humidex (over 90 by your measurement).
ReplyDeleteLove the iPhone case!! :)
I loved the iPhone case until he got engaged! Dang it! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am blessed to have had all my grandparents for most of my life.
ReplyDeleteI love the one of Mommom; she's still looking good! :)
ReplyDeleteEEEWWW BRANDON! Your gross :P hahaha
