My oldest son stopped in yesterday during his lunch hour. Ahren works for a pest control company. He was explaining to me that his first job of the day was baiting a farm for rats. He left the bed of the truck open because he was taking things on and off of it. He came out of the barn to get more supplies and saw a goat on the back of his truck. Yes people, you read right! A GOAT! Ahren tried getting the goat down, but he was stubborn and wouldn't budge. Ahren had to call the office and get another technician help him get the goat off the truck. When the farmer returned and Ahren told him what happened, the farmer replied "Oh yes, the goat likes to take rides in my truck". huh?
I went to Staples to get a bunch of things laminated for my daycare. The Staples employee ended up laminating three things on top of one another. Sorry Staples…. THAT WAS N.O.T. EASY!
Brandon had a hockey game Wednesday night. I know I am his mother and I know I am supposed to be supportive. Sorry baby, but your on-ice performance sucked! Go get 'um next time!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
Fancy schmancy paper clips, and are those refrigerator magnets???
ReplyDeleteBTW, girlfriend, why aren't you linked up over at Mrs. 4444's place?
ReplyDeleteI didnt realize Staples laminated stuff.. I need to write that down for memory sake.
ReplyDeleteI love getting fun surprises in the mail. Those clips & magnets are adorable :)
Fun getting gifts in mail! Goat sorry cracks me up! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWooot Woooot - - - you got all linked up.
ReplyDeleteYes, the goat story was a stitch.
The gift is adorable!!! And a goat that takes rides in trucks! Geez! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice when we connect with our bloggy friends like that. It's definitely one of the biggest perks I get out of blogging! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI know of dogs who love to ride in cars but a goat? Wow.
ReplyDeleteI KNOW!! Right????

Adorable gift. I'm glad I don't have run-ins with goats.
ReplyDeleteLove the goat story. I wonder if he had given the goat a short ride then the satisfied goat would have hopped off. You know my first name is commonly associated with goats.
ReplyDeleteFirst a clown, now a goat... I have a funny image of you!

yes but a funny goat not a gruffy one.
ReplyDeleteI'd be afraid that it would bite!
ReplyDeleteI began blogging for myself. Now, I look forward to reading others for the friendships that have been developed.
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought! LOL
ReplyDeleteAhren was laughing hysterically when he was telling me about it too!
ReplyDeleteI get a lot laminated for my day care. This was the first time I ran into a problem.
ReplyDeleteThe goat would have scared me!
ReplyDeleteDid Staples unlaminate the three things?? That's crazy! Sounds like someone was in a hurry.
What a sweet gift!
The goat just wanted Ahren to take him for a ride! Heehee! Do all the boys play hockey?
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to get surprise packages in the mail! Forget the goat-you lost me at rat baits. I'm glad there are people who take care of removing unwanted critters. Probably a full time job on a farm! Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThey were able to fix it. It doesn't look as good as it should but its better than being ruined. They game me $10 back for the inconvience.

Ahren played in high school. Brandon has played since 4th grade. He is in 10th grade now.

Rats, yuk! I know! They are attracted to the grain you feel the cows. Bait stations are placed around the barn area to try to control it. Disgusting. I was an office manger for years before I got my Childhood Ed degree. So I know WAY to much about rodents. :)

I absolutely LOVE goats! Please tell your son next time, just shut the tailgate and bring the goat to me.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Florida isn't THAT far. It would be a nice little vacation for him! ;-)
The Staples guy sounds like a real genius. o.O
Oooh, are those magnates??? They look very Vera Bradley! Love her bags.
ReplyDeleteEven moms have to call it like they see it.
Doesn't the goat in the truck make you think of an old, off color farmer joke with sheep?? Maybe it's an Iowa farm kids sick humor thing.
Guess the goat was ready for a ride! That is so funny!
ReplyDeleteI guess your son will have to keep his tail gate up, jeeze. Rats ugghhh. Had one run across my feet while taking trash out (so not my job) on a hospice case. I was horrified. I hope your other son does better this week:) And finally GO FLYERS!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week...
I feel famous! Thanks for posting my humble little gift :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are magnets. Proudly handing on my fridge!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I don't know the joke. You have to tell it to me!!
Staples guy wasn't too bright. =D
ReplyDeleteI think the goat would love the trip to FL!
Speaking of parental support, today I watched Toddlers and Tiaras for the first time. Wow. Your honest assessment of your son's playing is refreshing :)
ReplyDeleteRefreshing or brutally honest... Depends how you look at it. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteAwww Melissa is too sweet! Love this honest and humourous post...
