Hubby and I put the canopy up this weekend. It went much easier than me trying to do it myself. If I wasn't so impatient…
My hubby was placing the metal stakes in the ground and ended up bending one. **teehee** He doesn't know his own strength. I am a sucker for this big, tall, strong and handsome man who patiently puts up with me (and who buys me shoes too!).
Last year we put up a $70.00 canopy. It didn't last because of a wind storm that bent the poles into a twist of metal everywhere. Our area gets really bad wind. It was open farm land at one time and there are not enough grown trees to block the wind. Our yard backs up into the woods, but even that doesn't stop the wind.
This year we spent more than double the price of a canopy hoping that this one would stand up to the weather. The poles are stronger and the top has an opening so that wind can go thru it without lifting the entire thing up.
Here it is! **Ta Da** The expensive better quality canopy that better not bend in the freakin' wind!
In case you didn't notice - there is a hockey stick on the ground that our dog decided to carry around like a bone or stick. Even our dog loves hockey!
My husband really wants a canopy for our backyard. I really want a pair of cute shoes like yours.
ReplyDeleteLove the canopy - - - and the hubster is pretty cute too!
ReplyDelete:-) Yes he is!
DeleteLooks awesome..and I hope it stands up against the wind!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheerful little play area! It looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteHaha. Even the dog loves hockey. That made me smile. What about the cat?
ReplyDeleteThe canopy looks AWESOME. GREAT job you two. TEAMWORK makes the job complete. Hope it's wind proof. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThat's really funny, Tami(the hockey stick) and the canopy is wonderful! Here's hoping you get some weather that goes with it; if yours is anything like ours, it's been schizophrenic lately!
ReplyDeleteI love the hockey stick and dog I can just see it! Canopy looks great.......good job Todd! Have a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteOur subdivision was once farmland (as recently as 4 years ago), and there's still farmland surrounding it. So I know what those winds can be like out here with no big trees to stop the winds.
ReplyDeleteEven your dog loves hockey? Why shouldn't he/she? What's not to love? My Blues didn't fare too well last night (and lost, due to an injury resulting from a major that wasn't called, one of their best players). I'm hoping that your Flyers do better today. Go Flyers! Go Blues!
Man that looks like such a fun play area!
ReplyDeleteGreat job.. its perfect for that space!
ReplyDeleteYay for canopies - and hopefully no sunburns. And let's pray for no bad winds. Did you see what happened with the tent in St Louis? Scary! Fingers crossed you start that beautiful summer weather we all want and need.
