Last evening Ahren went to the Amity Fire Company to find out how to become a firefighter and EMT. Friday he is going to fill out the application and begin a 90 day training program. The fire company is literally 2 minutes from our home, located outside of our development. They host a lot of community activities, including a circus, a fair for children, fire prevention week and Santa on the fire truck! The guy on the right with the white hat is the fire chief that we met last night to talk about the program.

Sounds like a great fire company. Every year in Florida we would have Santa come up our street and hand out gifts to all the kids, I miss that! keep us posted on how the training program goes for Ahren.
ReplyDeleteI am excited for him. His girlfriend recently broke up with him and he has been down in the dumps. I'm hoping this puts a spark back into him.
ReplyDeleteVery nice thing for him to do. He will learn a LOT!! PS my computer is in rehab so I will be checking "from the road" with my I phone or maybe Amy's computer...too bad you are just a bit too far away.... will meet you someday for sure.
ReplyDeletePS Sorry to learn about the breakup, but I always feel that when one door shuts, another one opens..... xo
That is good advice. AND SO TRUE!!
ReplyDeleteWe have SES (State Emergency Service) here, where lots of youth volunteer their services and are involved in crowd control, (the not so nice stuff happens later on.) But I don't think we have anything like that with the Fire Brigade. What a great idea. I must have missed the news about the 'breakup' - I am presuming it's not you and your dh........so I hope all is working out okay. Breakups are never nice, but often a necessary evil.
